Meeting – Tuesday, March 1, 2016 - Approved Notes

Meeting called to order at 6:08 pm.

Christian gave a summary of the last meeting’s notes

Motion to approve by McKenna; Second by Brady; Motion passed to approve the minutes. Approval of last meeting’s minutes

Presentation – Emma Hurguy gave a presentation on her chicken Snowflake

Cloverbuds dismissed to talk about what they’ll be doing for their fair display.

Old Business

Website Meeting – Ms. LaVigne and Christian presented a class on Feb. 9th. It was fun and productive. Members who attended were able to start their own website during the session
Fair Packets – Be on look out for fair packets being snail- mailed to you in the next few days. Contact the extension office if you don’t received anything in the mail. Rumor is the registration deadline will be soon…March 15th. So we won’t have time to procrastinate. In the past, members submit their packets to the club leader (or designated person) who then, in turn, submits all the club members order forms for wrist bands, RV reservations, etc to the Fair.

New Business

Officer Nominations – we will be electing new officers in April. Do I hear any nominations for:

Treasurer – Hayley and Christian
Secretary – Kaylin and Brady
Vice President – Jessie and McKenna
President – Isaiah
Activities – Adam and Ryland

Be ready to do a short presentation (2-4 minutes) at the next meeting. You can share what are your qualifications, goals, what you’d like to do in your position.

Ms. Brenda is retiring in May. Are there any parents that are interested in stepping up to the plate?

- Working on getting cabbages entered into the fair

  - Fair workday for market projects on Saturday, March 5th at 8am. (Makayla will not be there.)
  - Show on 12th and 13th – forms were just posted; need to be postmarked by March 7th
  - Pig/Lamb/Goat Meetings at Amphi Land Lab

    - March 20th at 3:00
    - April 3rd at 3:00
    - April 10th at 3:00
  - If you ordered a shirt, they are 7:50; checks to Makayla by the 5th, written to Pima County Swine Project
  - Everyone needs to worm now.
  - Buyer letters
    - should get mailed out in the first week of April. You might want to include the brochure from the auction (on their website)
    - There’s been a contest in years past for the best buyer letters.
    - Make your letter personal

  - Meeting on Friday, March 4th – 6pm at Hayley’s house
  - Show on Saturday starts at 8am (Makayla will not be there)
  - Parents should sign up for something for snack bar.
  - Need to write buyer letters, too.

- More Fair information
  - Fair workday for everyone is April 9th
  - Also need to do a board for each project.
    - Market projects created boards during the second work day
    - Horse project is a big board (4X8)
- Talked about Jolt Camp (see the February minutes for additional information) and Horse Camp (members shared their experiences). Horse Camp is the last week in June.
