Meeting called to order at 6:06 p.m.

American Pledge led by Missy; 4H Pledge led by Gila

Treasurer’s Report from Isaiah – Current balance is $ 866.41.

Motion to approve -  Rhiannan Second by Christian -  Approved

Christian summarized the minutes from the last meeting.

Presentation – Adam gave a presentation about ranch sorting.

Activity – Valentines cards – Everyone – 20 minutes

Cloverbuds were dismissed.

New Business

  • Pima County Fair

  • Time to start thinking about fair….Only 71 days away

  • April 14-24

  • Theme is … “on the farm”

  • Each project needs to start working on their Herdsmanship project

  • Ms. Brenda signed us up for parking lot clean up day (April 22nd).  Our club will earn $250.00 for this work! Will only take about an hour. Each club could only pick one day. If there are any left-over days, we can grab those too. List will be emailed out in March. This is something we wanted to do last year, but sign up closed too quickly. This counts as community service too!

  • Drawing for those responding to email (reading minutes from last meeting). 

  • Jolt Camp is coming up 

  • Must be 14 by January 1, 2016

  • Early bird registration is due April 15

  • Held in Payson June 6-10

  • Website Meeting

  • Ms. LaVigne and Christian will give a session on how to design your own website.  It will be on Tuesday, February 9th  from 6-7:30 at this classroom. Bring your own computer.

 

Project reports

  • Cavy – Ms. Sarah

    • Preparing for AZ Convention

    • Will be a meeting coming up – info will be shared after this meeting.

  • Dairy – Mr. Dotson

    • Cow clinic in Benson coming up.

    • All paperwork in for fair for all three girls.

    • Working on signs for each dairy cow; will have one more meeting to finish.

  • Gardening – Ms. Jenn

    • Jake talked about Botanical Gardens fieldtrip;  learned about bird feeders and did various activities. Learned about spices and herbs. Saw frogs and butterflies.

    • Cauliflowers growing, some have been eaten by people and some by caterpillars.  Growing cabbages to show at the fair.

  • Horse – Ms. Brenda

    • Went to the winter points show; participants reported on how things went at the show.

    • Important dates – Email Brenda if you need any additional info.

      • April 23 and 24th is the Mission Saddle Club

      • Feb 7 Admonson Quarter horses

      • March 6th – 12:30 Jump Qualifying at Brandi Fenton

      • More info on jumping clinic coming up – Jessie

    • Make sure to vaccinate with EHV4-1.  Virus is spreading in this area.

  • Dog – Hayley Davidson is in project with Pusch Ridge.

    • Haley reported on recent events and competitions.

  • Swine, Goat, Sheep, Rabbit - Ms. Makayla and Anthony

  • Swine/goat/sheep PLEASE contact Makayla to clarify Any dates.

    • Most members are going to the SAILA show in Casa Grande this Saturday and/or Sunday.  Weigh-in 7-8:30 and show starts at 10

    • SAILA Show on February 20-21 (postmark by Feb 3 for early reg) and March 12-13, 2016

    • Workdays

      • March 5th is Market workday at fairgrounds at 7:30 am.

      • April 9th is Fair workday at 7:30 a.m.

      • You need to attend both workdays to go to fair.

    • Two months left till Fair.

    • Meetings at Amphi are (contact Makayla at least two days in advance if you are unable to attend; otherwise, you need to be at all meetings.)

      • February 28th at 3:30

      • March 6th at 3:30

      • March 20th at 3:30

      • Nothing scheduled for April yet.

  • Rabbit – Haley gave update on her rabbits.

    • Meetings TBA – Contact Makayla

    • Mentioned the rabbit/cavy classic show is March 5th at 8am

  • Open Discussion

  • Members start thinking about becoming a 4-H leader next year.

    • Will nominate in March and elect in April

    • Adults, start thinking about becoming the community leader.
