Activity – How to make a good first impression

Brenda talked about the importance of making a good impression on others when we’re in public representing our club.  This will be important at the fair if you’ll be showing an animal at the fair, particularly if you’ll be selling an animal at auction.

  • Body language is important. Show confidence. Hands not in your pockets or on your hips.

  • Don’t let your phone be a distraction.

  • Politely invite people to see your project. Not pointing

  • Eye contact is important.

  • Speak loud enough for others to hear but not too loud

  • Stand still.

  • If you shake hands, firmly but don’t squeeze too hard.

  • Make small talk…How are you enjoying the fair?

  • Remember please and thank you and manners in general.

Code of conduct at fair

Be respectful of others, watch your language, don’t run amuck.

Even other’s behaviors (friends, relatives, etc.) can reflect badly on our club.

Let’s make our club look great
