Activity – Isabelle – “Two Truths and a Lie”

 

Old Business – Gila

            -Membership

                        -completed and paid by November meeting

            -Quality Assurance (now called “Youth for the Quality Care of Animals” )

                        -If your QA is good through April 28th 2019 then no need to take class. Other wise you

                         will have to take QA again.

                        -In Person Classes: October 17th / 6pm / PCCE

                                                      October 17th / 7:15pm /PCCE

                                                     October 25th /6pm / Three Points Serenity Baptist Church

                        -If you have done QA before, you can take it online.

                        -$3 for in person class -$12 for online class

 

New Business- Gila

            -Presentations

                        November = Christian / Rhiannon

            -Bylaws

                        -need to be signed and turned in by November meeting

                        -revised version on website / print out and sign and bring to next meeting

                        -October 20th at 8am to 1:30 pm

                        -RSVP to Joshua Moore if going

            -Shirt Designs

                        -submit designs for all projects and the overall club by November meeting

                        -vote on them in December & order in January

Project Reports

            Swine ( Makayla Smith )

                        -names of breeders will be provided in November once pigs are born

                        -tag in is January 6th from 10 to noon and January 12th from 10 to noon at UofA feedlot/

                        paperwork needed (QA, self inspection, as bred and fed paperwork, $10 to tag, Pima

                        County Bred and Fed paperwork signed)

                        -Clinics: February 17th at UofA farm / March 23rd at UofA farm

                        -Swine members are required to attend one clinic and one show this year per county to

                        attend fair (must have filled out paper at weigh in at fair or can’t check in, form will be

                        provided at tag in)

                        -Check In: Hogs are no longer allowed to come across scale dirty. They need to be

                                       washed and clean to be classified. Herdsmanship is throughout the day now at

                                       random times so we need to make sure our barn is clean!

Dairy Cattle ( Mr. Skip )

                        -start practicing with cows for fair

 

Rabbit ( Makayla )

                        -Fur and Feather show is November 3rd. Check in is at 8 AM. $3 per rabbit.

                        -For fair, check in is on Thursday, showmanship is on Friday, and Breed is on Saturday.

                        -Face Time meetings will be set up with Haley and Kylie.

 

Dog ( Meghan Davidson )

                        -Meeting on Saturday, October 20th at River Front / we will be working on knowledge

 

Goat n Lamb (Makayla)

                        -October 7th -4pm- @Smith house-16840 W. Peccary Lane (weighing, feeding clinic, and

                        Showmanship)

                        -October 14th -4pm- Amphi (showmanship, feeding)

                        -October 28th – Bell’s house (showmanship, feeding)

                        -November 3rd-4th is Globe Saila Show

                        -tag in is December 1st, 8-10am and December 9th, 8-10am (both at UofA farm)

                        -paperwork needed (QA, self inspection or seasonal pass, $20 a head to tag, AZ Bred and                       Fed paperwork signed)

Shooting Sports (Tom Decker)

                        -bring sunscreen!

 

Archery (Brad Gorkowski)

 

Steer ( Makayla Smith)

                        -October 6th -2 to 5pm- beef clinic @ farm

                        -October 24th-UofA is hosting a cutting class @ farm for beef members (limited to beef

                         Members and parents) 6PM dinner will be served (RSVP to Joshua Moore by October

                         19th via email)

                        -November 3rd through 4th is Globe Saila Show

                          -tag in is Nov. 4th -1 to pm and Nov. 17th -9 to 11:30 (both at UofA farm on  Cambell)

                        -paperwork needed (the new QA, seasonal pass/self inspection paperwork or livestock

                         Certificate from livestock inspector, $30 to tag per head, As Bred & Fed paperwork

                         Signed)

                        -December 8th -9th is Pinal Saila Show

                        -Beef is required to attend two shows and one clinic to show at fair. This is TBA, not sure

                         On amount.
