Old Business -

  • By-Laws- We are going to vote to approve the new by-laws.

  • Discussion commenced about amending the Bylaws to include members can miss a meeting providing the member has an excused absence. Also amend to include approval of two leaders when an absence is expected or when a special circumstance occurs in which a member cannot attend a meeting.

  • Membership sign ups – August started a new 4-H enrollment year on 4HOnline. All profiles changed to INACTIVE ON AUGUST and you will be required to re-enroll for the next 4-H year. Profile items change every year so it is important that everyone (youth and adults) update their profile before submitting.  website address is  https://az.4honline.com.  Pay the $20.00 enrollment fee by cash or check to one of the club treasurer (Kayla) as there is not an option to pay online.  Everyone needs to have this done by the end of the week.

 

New Business

 

  • Project reports

  • Horse – Ms. Staggs

  • Sorting practices – October 22nd and November 12th at 9:30 a.m.

  • State 4h horse show registration deadline is October 15.  Adam and Rhiannon are eligible to compete.  Adam will compete in Sorting, Goat tying, and Gymkhana Events.  Rhiannon is eligible to compete in Gymkhana events

  • Cavy – Ms. heather

  • Next meeting October 22nd   11:30 am

  • Caden won best of breed and variety at national convention.

  • Swine, goat, lamb, and rabbit – Makayla and Anthony

  • Lamb meeting at 3:00 on 22nd of October at Makayla’s house. 

  • SALA  on the 29th of October in Cottonwood

  • Swine – Ron still up in air on swine sale.  Will have a meeting on how to feed and how to pick your pig.  See Makayla after meeting for show information.  There are other options for buying pigs talk to Makayla first. Pig Meeting sometime near October 22nd at Makayla’s house at 2:00

  • Rabbit – 21st of October – meeting at 1:00 pm at Mrs. Heather’s house. Fur and Feather November 4th.

 

  • Dairy – Mr. Skip (Mr. John)

  • Gila has two calves, one bull and one heifer.  Meeting coming up in November. Stay tuned.

 

  • Shooting sports/Archery - Mr. David, Small bore – Tom

  • Archery meeting 10/21 and 7:00 a.m at Naranja park. May have to make adjustment if range is super busy.  10:00 small bore meeting in this classroom.  Paperwork needs to be submitted by this meeting.  Tshirt design needs to be in this weekend to Mr. David so we can vote on 10/21  Spring hunts are due tomorrow (10/10)

 

  • Community Service Projects sign up before you leave   

  • Isaiah - Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat canned food drive. October 23rd-27th The weigh in will be at the new families welcome night October 27th. The club that collects the most food will get a special prize! Minimum of 80 pounds of food to participate.  Bring to any leader or officer by the 20th of October.

  • Makayla - Jim Click tickets through the executive council.  Tickets available by the end of October.

  • Isaiah - Tractor Supply company 4-H Clover donations - October 4th-15th The company does nationwide clover donations. They asked us to have people bring small animals if possible and sit out front to collect donations for our club and hand out information. October and 14th and 15th.  

 

  • Isaiah - Calendar for the year – Project leaders – please submit dates of important events for the next year so they can be added to the calendar.

 

  • Social Media/Website –

  • Open Discussion – questions, etc.

  • New families welcome night October 27th at the campus Agriculture center.

  • New this year solar clovers project! Only 75 kids total, moving gadget, race car, and a solar water fountain permanent display.

  • * QA * youth for the quality care of animals, good for 1 year, if you took QA last 2 years you are good through Dec 2018, leaders are recommended to take it, it is not required though. No dates available as of this meeting.
